传记

Jennifer Dollar is the Co-Director of the Masters in Education in Trauma-Informed Practices, the Director of Social Work Field Education, and a Social Work Instructor.  She came to Columbia College in 2016 to join the Social Work Department.  Jennifer received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at the University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Carson Newman University in east Tennessee.  Jennifer worked as a Medical Social Worker for over eight years after completing her MSW and then shifted her social work career by becoming a School Social Worker in Lexington/Richland School District Five.  Over her years as a School Social Worker, Jennifer had at least 17 interns from both graduate and undergraduate programs so the transition to Columbia College to be the Director of Field Education and a Social Work Instructor was an easy transition.  While in School District Five, she was nominated as the Support Employee of the Year for Harbison West Elementary twice and was honored to be chosen as Support Employee of the Year for Lexington/Richland School District Five one of those years.

Jennifer has always had a deep love of working with educators, 学生, 和父母, working diligently to be trauma-informed in her practices.  In 2020, she was given the opportunity to Co-Direct a new Masters in Education in Trauma-Informed Practices which empowers her to share her insights as a Licensed Independent Social Worker who works with clients who have experienced trauma.    Jennifer is blessed to get to educate undergraduate and graduate 学生 here at Columbia College.

What do you love about working at Columbia College?

I love working at Columbia College because of the interactions I get to have with 学生.  Whether it is in class or when 学生 stop by my office, I love getting to know each student through the time I'm privileged to spend them!
